The history of this steak goes back in time and can be tracked its origins to the “House of Medici“ in Florence.
In the celebration of the “ Festa di San Lorenzo”, large quantities of veal cuts were roasted and then distributed to the population as gifts from their benefactors.
This cut is also called T- Bone Steak in the United States, but be aware that according to the denomination of origin, the original Bistecca Alla Fiorentina should be from the CHIANINA cow (very few existing) that is a breed which only comes from the Valdichiana in Tuscany.
After this short explanation you now know that you can only eat this wonderful an unique piece of meat in the Tuscany region specially in Florence.
Awesome taste and texture, eat it medium raw to medium for the proper taste, only add a little salt and your royalty steak is ready.
